Lyndon’s Record Catalogue Database

Tell me, what would you do if some little bastard broke into your home and walked out with your prized record collection. Could you honestly remember each and every piece of vinyl or CD that you have. I think not! Personally, I think that it is worthwhile cataloguing your collection for this very reason, which I sincerely hope will never happen to you or me.

I have developed a simple cataloguing system which suits my needs, and will probably serve yours as well. The information is stored as a Microsoft Access database, and you will require this software in order to use it. Click here to download the database in zip format. It may take a long time for you to enter your entire collection, but in the event of the worst case scenario, you may think it worthwhile (unless you lose your other half through neglect). Another tip is to take a backup of your database on diskette and remove it from you home. The catalogue will be useless if your entire house burns down.

Assistance

Although I will not actively support this database, I will try to be of assistance if you need any help. I will not charge for this, but you must realise that I may not be able to respond to your query immediately and I am not an expert in Microsoft Access, so RTFM first.

Further, it is unlikely that I will develop the database further, but do not let that stop you making any changes. However, if you do, I may be unable to help you with a query.

Please try to resolve your query using the following steps:

  1. Frequently Asked Questions (including hints and tips)
  2. Known Problems
